to be auctioned off this weekend at the Monterey auction is this beautiful one-off 1952 Cunningham C-3 West Palm Beach Coupe. conceived by American entrepreneur and sportsman Briggs Swift Cunningham II, the C-3 Coupe was the only coupe example that is based on the Cunningham’s C-2R competition car and for this auction, you will be seeing a non-mainstream legend restored to its exact factory specifications. the coupe is fitted with a 331 cubic-inch (5.4-liter) Chrysler HEMI V8 engine and features four Zenith carburetors on a Cunningham-designed ‘log’ manifold. the 220-horsepower (164-kW) engine is mated to a Cadillac three-speed manual transmission. ride comfort is undertake by independent front suspension and live rear axle. the 1952 Cunningham C-3 West Palm Beach Coupe is expected to fetch between $675,000 to $875,000 at the Monterey auction organized by RM Auctions, on the August 19 and 20, 2011 at the Portola Hotel & Spa and Monterey Conference Center. check out a few more gorgeous images of this one-off coupe after the break.
