so you own an Android smartphone, tablet and probably having fun with cloud-computing on your Chromebook but your Google’s Android experience is far from complete – at least not without a Google TV or in this case, an Android TV. there is no out-of-the-box Android TV per say but you could turn your regular HDTV into one with this $129.99 ARCHOS TV Connect. it consists of two parts: the comprehensive TV Touch remote and the base unit (aka ARCHOS TV Connect) that is designed to perch on top or nest underneath the TV. once setup, your HDTV basically becomes an oversized tablet that will let your play games, stream videos, video chat, email and surf the Internet. setting itself apart from the handful of competition is its TV Touch remote that features a full QWERTY keyboard, game controls (d-pad, analog sticks et cetera), Android shortcut keys and full multi-touch integration that let you control your TV as you would with your smartphone or tablet i.e. the usual gestures such as tap, pinch, swipe et cetera. the base unit itself is equipped with a HD webcam with built-in microphone for video chat and LED notifier lets you know when you have incoming calls when watching TV. running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the ARCHOS TV Connect is powered by a 1.5GHz multi-core processor with 1GB of RAM and features 8GB of flash memory which is expandable via micro SDHC card slot (supports up to 32GB) along with connectivity and I/Os including WiFi, mini USB port, USB host port, Ethernet port and mini HDMI out. dropping in February 2013 but prior to that, you can experience the ARCHOS TV Connect first hand at the 2013 International CES, happening in Las Vegas from January 8 to 11, 2013.
