World Record: Batman Cosplay Suit With 23 Working Gadgets

I am sure most people are familiar with what cosplay is, but what you probably don’t know is, a well thought out and executed cosplay costume could land you with a recognition by the world leading international authority on cataloguing and verification of world records, Guinness World Records. Such is what happen to special creature effects expert Julian Checkley’s incredibly detailed Batman getup. What makes Julian’s Batman: Arkham Origins video game-inspired suit so unique is, it actually has 23 functioning gadgets which lands him with the world record for “most functional gadgets on a cosplay suit” (yep, it is a thing) in Guinness World Records 2017 Gamer’s Edition.

According to Guinness World Records, to qualify for this record, “the gadgets must be integrated in the suit, and cannot be separate, carried gadgets,” which means whatever Julian devised for his cape crusader’s suit, should more than qualify. The suit is generally made up two parts: an under suit and various individual parts that were suitably weathered for an authentic touch of a battle-hardened crime fighter. Adding to the realism are, of course, the working gadgets which includes smoke bombs, a grapnel gun for scaling buildings, a Bluetooth ‘Bat Tracker’, NBC-rated (nuclear, bacteria, chemical) bat-respirator that fits into the cowl (the coolest Bat-gets ever!), a gauntlet with display, bat-comms two-way radio, gauntlet-mounted fireball shooter, and even a 2000-watt EMP stun gun designed to stun criminals with blinding light.
