you are probably not impressed with BLU Products’ ‘affordable’ handsets with matching specs, but before you turn your head and leave, you might want to check out the BLU LIFE Pure Smartphone – a handset described by BLU Products as having “flagship performance.” but before we touch on ‘performance’, we have to confess that it is the look that had us at hello. the LIFE Pure bears the prettiest design we have seen coming from BLU to date (just look at the bezel!) – thanks to its seamless and minimalist design. crafted from a single piece polycarbonate using the latest CNC technology and individually handcrafted to arrive to what you see here: a sleek handset in an iPhone-isque form, albeit in plastic, that we can’t help but to take a second and third look.
fronting the device is a 5-inch Full HD display with OGS and full lamination scratch resistant touch display, boasting 441 ppi and it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor, clocking in at 1.5GHz with graphics duty undertaken by PowerVR SGX544 GPU. other specs include 2GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, a 13MP BSI camera with autofocus and LED flash (1080p @ 30fps videoing, no less), a 5MP front-facing camera, a 2,000 mAh lithium-ion battery, advanced DTS surround audio technology, dual mic noise cancellation, stereo recording and of course, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, along with the ‘usuals’ such as GPS, FM radio, 3G radios with HSPA+ support, supports for WiFi Display, accelerometer, proximity sensor and gyroscope. with the BLU you will also get software enhancements such as a custom UI that is simpler and sleeker, advanced smart gesture and motion sensor technology (a la Touchwiz sort of thing).
the BLU LIFE Pure Smartphone is available in Matter Black or Ceramic White finish in Stateside and Latin America for $349, unlocked and contract-free, as always.
