the BMW i3 Concept Coupe you see here, though named so, is more like a compact hatch with its three-door configuration with a somewhat ‘cute’ appearance. if you think this concept look vaguely familiar, then you are right cos’ this Coupe is technically the i3 Concept with a slew of tweaks, inside and out. the i3 Coupe features a carbon fiber body and is propelled by a BMW-developed electric motor that pumps 170 horsepower (125 kW) and a torque peaking at 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) to its rear wheels via a single-speed transmission. juicing the vehicle is a bunch of lithium-ion batteries tucked under the floor (which probably account for its tall design) that is said to give the car a lower center of gravity effect, thus making it more agile. though essentially a three-door hatch, the steeply raked windscreen, a gentler sloping rear and broader stance gives the vehicle an unmistakable sportiness with a somewhat coupe-fair. other highlights include a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) passenger cell, long doors with frameless windows (a coupe feature), massive 20-inch double-spoke design light-alloy rolling stocks and an interior designed with sustainability in mind, featuring a mix of leather, wood, wool and other renewable raw materials. though looking all awesome and drool-worthy, it is still a concept and hence, don’t expect to see this baby in your local dealership anytime soon but what we can offer you is a small gallery of this solar-orange beauty for your viewing pleasure, which you can find below.
