we know it sucks to know that the new iPhone 5 now sports the new Lightning connector that renders all your ‘old’ accessories that uses the 30-pin dock connector useless. that actually thought us a valuable lesson: do not rely on connectors and wireless streaming is the way to go, and for the case of Apple’s devices, AirPlay would be the safer bet for many years to come. speaking of which, Bose is indeed strolling the ‘safe path’ with their new Bose SoundLink Air Digital Music System, an AirPlay-enabled speaker system. for the uninitiated, AirPlay allows any mobile Apple devices, or a computer running iTunes to wirelessly stream music to an AirPlay-enabled system which means dock connector is not in your list of worries, unless the folks over at Cupertino decided ‘revolutionize’ things again. as with all Bose products, technical specifics are not divulge but what we do know is that it has Bose’s waveguide speaker technology and neodymium transducers under its hood, allowing this compact system to deliver “rich, full-range sound.” a 3.5mm auxiliary is also in place, catering to non-AirPlay devices and if you want a truly mobile and untethered solution, an optional rechargeable battery is available for purchase. the Bose SoundLink Air Digital Music System is available now with a price tag of $349.95.
