if you haven’t already know, the next year of the Chinese calendar (which starts from the February 10) is the Year of the Snake. marking this occasion, Converse announces the Converse Spring 2013 Chinese New Year Collection that includes the Converse Cons Pro Leather Year of the Snake Sneakers and Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Chinese New Year Collection. both collection pays homage to the Chinese zodiac Snake and features premium leathers, crafted in snakeskin patterns and with details that some might considered ‘out of this world’. kicking of the collection is the Converse Cons Pro Leather Year of the Snake Sneakers ($120 a pair) that bears the legendary silhouette, clad in premium faux-python skin in deep burgundy tone, while the inside is lined with ultra-soft sheepskin leather. the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Chinese New Year Collection ($75 – $100 a pair), on the other hand, features both abstract and modern patterns, and are crafted in snakeskin patterns and detailing such as rivets, zippers, flocking and of course, a mix of premium materials. why not? they are premium shoes after all. aren’t they? the Converse Spring 2013 Chinese New Year Collection is available now at Converse retails stores, as well as Converse online store. check out a few more look in the gallery below.
