There are a lot of things I can’t imagine how it will play out and turning a first person shooter (FPS) into a board game is one of them. The lack of imagination in this respect is not surprising for a person who can’t even imagine how Risks is being played, even though I had the board game since I was 15. Anyway, that’s just me. However, if you don’t find board game first person shooter any odder than a bear scratching his back on a traffic sign post, then the Crysis Analogue Edition is for you. More so, if you are a huge Crysis fan because this board game, created by Germany-based Frame6, not only features stunning visuals interpreted on the board, ‘soldier boards’, punchboard tokens and playing card loaded with information, but it also come with some seriously awesome miniatures and dice. It even comes with 20 protective wall and 16 light cover to make the whole board game experience more, well, immersive. Kind of…
Even if you don’t play it, i guess it will make a pretty interesting collectible. Most importantly, you don’t need a tricked out PC to play this “first person shooter”; all you need is two to eight person and you are pretty much all set. The only thing lacking is perhaps sound effect, so I guess you and your friends will have to your own “bratatat… dakka” effects. The Crysis Analogue Edition is not a reality yet. It needs your money to take it from prototype to real product. If you think the Crysis board game is right up your alley, then you may want to consider backing up Frame6’s Kickstarter campaign. Early birds perk is €70, which translates to about US$78. So far, the campaign has pulled in about 30 percent in funding and with just 23 days to go, we are not confident if it will be able to reach its set funding goal.
