If you find the charger that comes standard with your smartwatch is an insult to a piece of high-tech gadget, then this levitating charger is what you need. Why? Because it freaking levitates, that’s why. The brainchild of Levitating Works, Lift Levitating Smartwatch Charger comprises of two parts: a main charging unit and a wireless charging base. Your smartphone, such as those from Apple or Pebble, straps around the main charging unit and the main charging unit is placed over the base to begin charging and levitation. We took hints from the pitch video that the levitating charging unit won’t be spinning like crazy as would most levitating gadgets.
If that’s true, then it will be super cool. One thing we learn from current horde of levitating products is they simply can’t stop spinning and that can’t be an annoyance. Anyways, product goes beyond offering you a fancy charging system; the main charging unit also boast an internal battery, good for two full charges for your smartphone, when you are out and about. It can also serve as an emergency backup battery for your smartphone too, but of course, at the expense of your already poor battery performance Apple watch. So, it is really your priority where the juice should go to.
And there’s more. The base also serves as a wireless charging pad for wireless charging-capable smartphone too. So, as you can see, the Lift is quite an all rounder and quite a looker too – something you’d expect from an outfit who look to Apple and Porsche Design for design inspiration. In addition, its creator indirectly stake claims to its levitation stability by indicating that you can even touch the smartwatch while it is levitating. Again, if that’s true, that will be fabulous because usually a levitating gadget or toy, such as my levitating Egg Attack Iron Man, can hardly stand a single touch.
The Lift Levitating Smartwatch Charger supports both Apple Watch and Pebble watches. If you are up for it, you can pick one up as a pre-order from Kickstarter for $199. And don’t worry about the funding goal cos’ over 1,000 backers have made this a reality. Assuming that it goes as planned, you should be seeing Lift at your doorstep sometime this October.
