when it comes to fitness tracking, Garmin is certainly not new in the market having specific needs addressed, but a void still remains in the general fitness aspect and this is where the Garmin vívofit Fitness Band wants to fill in. the most striking part of the device is the bracelet-like design, which despite the narrowish form factor, still managed to accommodate a unique curved display that always stays on, displaying your daily goal, which will be adjusted accordingly as you attain the different goals. though named fitness band, it is also an activity tracker that tracks the steps, distance, goal countdown, and it will even remind you when it’s time to move.
unlike most fitness band that touts built-in rechargeable battery, Garmin opt to go with user replaceable batteries that’s good for over a year, so there’s no need to be concerned with recharging. the band is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet) and is compatible with ANT+ heart rate monitors. the Garmin vívofit Fitness Band comes in black, purple, teal, blue and slate, and will be available with or without the heart rate monitor. arriving in Q1 2014 for $129.99 or $169.99 with the heart rate monitor bundle. check out a very emotional-driven product promo video after the break.
