a tablet without an alternative for expandable storage sometimes really puts consumers off. not that everyone needs to more gigabytes but it is always good to have more. we, for one, won’t be complaining if we have more storage than we actually need on our tablet. anyway, we guess Google did listen after all, cos’ it has finally confirmed the existence of the 32GB version of Google Nexus 7 tablet by ASUS – an almost overdue move but well, it is better late than never. to be fair, it is not really too late and along with the new 32GB model, Google also introduced another much needed version of the 7, and that’s one with HSPA+ capability. with the introduction of the latter, the Google Nexus 7 can now officially go mobile without the need to tether to another cell or MiFi for Internet access while on the road. forget about public WiFi hotspots cos’ they are not there when you needed it and in any case, it always feels good to be able to connect to the web in the middle of the street other then Starbucks. the deal sealer is actually the price: the 32GB WiFi model cost just $249 while the 32GB WiFi and HSPA+ model goes for a little under $300. if you ask us, we’d say those prices are what’s going to seal the deal but Google didn’t stop there, it seems that the 16GB WiFi has a price drop too, costing just $199 a pop.
