Guy Lived in Ikea Mall for Two Days

No matter which Ikea you go to, they are unsparingly massive and for unfamiliar visitors, getting lost is not uncommon and so is falling asleep on one of those cosy beds or sofas. While some of us may have our fair share of the said experience, no one can beat Bro Bible writer Harvey Champine, whom had gotten away living in one of the Ikea malls for two stays. Yes, you heard that right, two days. According to Harvey, it was one of those rare days where he had off and so, instead of staycation or whatever things normal folks do, he scurried to Ikea to have a hearty meal of cheap hotdog. Hit by drowsiness, likely induced by the heavy cheap meal, he fell asleep on one of the loft beds and the rest, well, I think its best to hear from the horse’s mouth:

“In my haze I’d mixed up the AM/PM on my alarm. IKEA had been closed for four hours when I awoke to find myself locked within a completely dark and deserted window-less store full of confusing Swedish script. If motion sensors existed I’d be caught and have to explain what I’d done and why now this lofted mattress pad now reeked of hot-dog sweat. I wouldn’t leave this bed. This was my camp now. This had become my adventure.”

So the story was, he overslept in a furniture mall and when he woke up, it was another brand new day in Ikea – without even the need to travel. Brilliant. Anyways, he decided that he might as well pacify the growling morning stomach at the store’s cafe, after which he proceeds to nap again, this time under some rugs. Well, that was definitely some kind of ‘vacation’ which Harvey certainly has the bragging rights and we are sure it will not be repeated by anyone. Whether if this a true account or a made up story, by this time, it would have gone viral and I am sure Ikea’s top brass wouldn’t be a bit amused. That said, checks will probably be strengthened in their stores from here on.
