HTC One mini 2

we find that some product names are better off without a number trailing behind it, such as this HTC One mini 2. it is odd to have a 2 after the mini (why not just One (M8) mini?), but we guess it should work just fine in pointing out that it is the second One mini the Taiwanese company is offering. unlike the first One mini, which is tad smaller than the flagship, the One mini 2 takes thing into a much smaller proportion with a 4.5-inch HD display, which should please those who wish for the beauty of the One M8 but want something that’s one-hand friendly. it shares the same hallmark design as the One M8, but that’s about as far as the similarity goes. as before, a watered down version is inevitable and to which, we thought was a huge compromise if you wanted a handsome but smaller device.

like we said, it looks like a shrunk down One M8, but on the inside, it has a whole new (and lesser) story brewing – starting with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, along with one gigabyte of RAM and 16GB built-in storage. those are not the only specs that got trimmed. imaging also suffers too, though HTC did maintain the 5MP front-facing camera with timer capability to please the selfie enthusiasts. the main camera is of a ‘regular’ 13-megapixel item and so no, there is no Lytro-style photography to expect from this second generation One mini. all expected disappointments aside, the One mini 2 did inherit some of the flagship’s hardware and software features like BoomSound, Zoe Highlights and Zoe, and of course, HTC Sense 6 with Blinkfeed.

other than that, there aren’t much to shout about – though we have to give praise to the One (M8) design (again). the HTC One mini 2 will be offered in the same Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver, and Amber Gold when it hits the market next month. exact availability and pricing are dependent on country and region, and telcos. why am i getting the feeling that no one is excited about this handset?
