still skeptical about owning a tablet? don’t let the iPad give you the impression that a tablet is a luxury gadget cos’ there are always affordable alternatives that can get you started with the blissful world of tablet computing. the Idolian IdolPad Plus is one such example and at $98 a pop, it is indeed extremely affordable for a full fledge tablet and possibly the cheapest 7-inch Android tablet in the market right now. features include a Cortex A8 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB of storage, a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen (800 x 480 pixels) with multitouch support, SD card slot (support up to 32GB), WIFI (b/g), micro USB 2.0, G-sensor and accelerometer, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. physically, the IdolPad Plus measures 14mm (0.5625″) thick and weighs in at 363 grams (0.8 lbs). aesthetically, it may not be the prettiest but at this price point, what more can you ask? plus, it comes with the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and supports streaming of Netflix movies and execute Skype video chat. though it is worthy to note that it still lacks today’s tablet staples such as GPS and Bluetooth connectivity. the specs and the look may not raise any eyebrows but it is after a sub-$100 Android tablet that most folks can afford, which itself, is a plus point. more look and a product intro video after the break.
