Due to the nature of multi-rotor setup, multicopters are, generally speaking, not very fast. So, if you seek the thrill of speed in a drone with the benefit of a first person view, Parrot’s new Disco FPV Smart Flying Wing Drone could be an answer. For one thing, if speed is what you after, this drone offers you up to a blazing 50 miles an hour (80 km/h) and if you don’t already know, it is, apparently, the first in the world of smart flying wing to do so. Together with Parrot Cockpitglasses, a first-person view goggle and Skycontroller 2, it would probably feel as if you are speeding amongst the imposing canyons like a daredevil, but without the actual risk except for, knock on wood, putting a $1,299.99 rig at stake. Apart from speed, it has good numbers in range and flight times too, yielding 1.24 miles (about 2.2 kilometers), 45 minutes flight time per charge, respectively.
Other details you can expect from this remote thrill ride includes a clockwork backed by a dual core Cortex A9 chip, precise and assisted piloting, a light and durable carbon and expanded polypropylene construction, built-in 3-axis stabilized FHD forward-facing camera, onboard 32GB memory for image data, secure WiFi connection, live video feedback to your smartphone, single click take off and landing, autopilot capability, and an array of sensors (even an airspeed sensor AKA Pitot tube!). All these for the above mentioned sticker which comes with the aircraft, Cockpitglasses, and Skycontroller 2. Quite a deal if you have the money to drop for this unmanned aerial sport.
