we are not particularly fond of huge DSLR and that precisely we love the middle ground: a camera that straddles between the cumbersome DSLR and the dumber point-and-shoot cameras. good for us and all like-minded folks, more and more such in-between shooters are surfacing and the Pentax Q10 Digital Camera, a follow-up to the original Pentax Q, is the latest offering from the Japanese imaging firm. continuing the ultra-compact, stylish form factor, the Q10 packs an improved 12.4-megapixel backlit CMOS sensor with SR, an upgraded AF algorithm for better focus in low light condition, full HD 1080p video recording with h.264 compression, ISO of up to 6,400, built-in HDR function, a 3.0-inch LCD display, micro HDMI out for outputting full HD clips with sound to HDTV, Pentax’s Shake Reduction for blur-free images, built-in pop-up flash, and a built-in bokeh control function to produce SLR-like focus effects. the Pentax is slated to hit the stores – on and offline – this October and will be offered in a red or silver kit, bundled with the 02 zoom lens with a sticker of $599.95. hit the jump for a few more look at the Q10.
