joining the world of connected camera is the Samsung NX mini Smart Camera which also happens to be the world’s slimmest and lightest camera. tipping the scale at just 158 grams (5.57 oz., body only) and measures 22.5 mm (0.86″) thin, the NX mini may be minuscule in the camera world, but it still managed to pack a fairly large 3-inch flip up touch display that is rotatable through 180 degrees, an 1-inch BSI CMOS sensor touting 20.5MP resolution, a slimline built-in flash and a 2,330 mAh battery. like all Sammy’s 2014 smart cameras, the NX mini also boasts advanced WiFi and NFC integration, allowing you to quickly pair with NFC-enabled devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to transfer the images to those devices. it even supports sending of images to up to four devices using Group Share, so you can save yourself the hassle of the repetitive and time-consuming process.
with the camera connected to your smartphones, it also lets you use your smartphone as the Remote View Finder Pro and even doubles as a baby monitor. other key features include 6 fps continuous shooting, 1/16000 sec shutter speed, built-in optical image stabilizer, NX-M mount, and a solid premium metal body matched with a luxurious leatherette finish. for a start, Samsung has introduced three NX mini lenses, namely an ultra-slim NX-M 9mm f/3.5 ED lens, a NX-M 9-27mm f/3.5-5.6 ED OIS lens zoom lens, and a NX-M 17mm f/1.8 OIS lens with bokeh effect. however, the NX-M is not directly compatible with the NX mount lenses and do require a specialized NX-M Mount adapter, available separately, if you wish to use any NX lenses. available in five hues: white, pink, mint green, brown and black, the Samsung NX mini Smart Camera is expected to hit the stores next month with starting sticker of $449.
