have you ever wonder what would Kevin Durant be if he wasn’t a professional basketball player? the newly announced Nike Zoom KD IV Weatherman Edition should give you a hint to that answer. apparently, weatherman was Durant’s childhood dream job. of course, he didn’t go that route but this pair of weather map inspired colorway sneakers should be at least be a consolation for that failed weatherman dream. aside from its eye-catching green front upper, the shoes feature a thermal weather map design on its back heel through to the sides, backgrounding behind the lime green Nike logo and that’s not all: flip the sneakers over, that familiar thermal weather map continues on the sole but this time, it imitates the thermal pattern of Durant’s feet. Samsung holds the rein in the race towards the thinnest electronic gadgets and then there is Adidas who is fervently creating the lightest shoes. latest to join the rank of lightest is this pair of basketball sneakers dubbed adiZero Crazy Light. as the model suggests, it is crazy light at just 9.8 ounces (278 grams). that’s just about two iPhone 4 worth of weight. indeed, it deserved to be called crazy light.
two years in the making has made the Crazy Light 15% lighter than its nearest competitor. just exactly how Adidas managed this feat? well, they removed everything that are deemed ‘unnecessary’ and kept those that are essential for a good game of basketball. actually, there are lots of technicalities behind it and i am no shoe-maker to understand them. catch the video after the jump to find out more.
the Adidas adiZero Crazy Light is set to retail for $130 and will be available this June.
