Meet Notebook Odyssey, Samsung’s First-ever Gaming Laptop

Samsung isn’t exactly the name for gaming hardware, but that hasn’t stop this other South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, from diving into it. The company’s first-ever gaming laptop, Notebook Odyssey made its debut yesterday and boy, does it look all business. It even as a specially designed logo to show it does indeed mean business (think: ASUS ROG). Coming at 17.3-inch and 15.6-inch, Notebook Odyssey is, expected, Samsung kind of sleek and touting quite a few delightful features which include an advanced cooling and ventilation system known as HexaFlow Vent, 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GTX1050 graphics with up to 4GB VRAM, up to 300 nits backlit anti-glare FHD display, ergonomically curved keycaps, backlit WASD keys (15-inch model only), and customizable backlit color of individual keycaps (17-inch model). So, Razer announcement in Europe has nothing to do with THX acquisition. Instead, we saw a new big-ass laptop popping into the gaming world, the 17-inch Razer Blade Pro Gaming Laptop. Billed as the thinnest and lightest desktop replacement in the world, the 17-inch Razer Blade Pro Gaming Laptop’s unibody CNC aluminium chassis measures mere 0.88 inches (22.5 mm) and tips the scale at under 8 lbs (7.8 lbs, or 3.54 kg, to be precise). Look-wise, it shares much of the aesthetic as its smaller siblings, which has become a design language adopted by Razer in recent years. New Razer Blade 14-inch Gaming Laptop Unveiled, Priced At $1,999 And Up

Razer is relentless in making on-the-go gamers happy. The new Razer Blade 14-inch gaming laptop is part of that relentless effort. The new Blade now gets the latest 6th generation Intel Core i7 quadcore processor with up to 3.5GHz clock speed and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M GPU, packing 6GB of VRAM. Also onboard is PCIe SSD technology, which is the obvious choice if you are serious about gaming, since it touts up to 3X faster speeds over traditional SSD. Another notable under the hood tweak is an improved thermal system that increases airflow and thus lower temperatures. ASUS Showoff Insane, Water-cooled 4K Gaming Laptop at IFA 2015

There’s limits to how powerful a gaming laptop could be, as we all know, laptop isn’t something that promotes fast cooling, which is a prerequisite for any insanely powerful rig. MSI basically grabbed the GS60 Ghost announced earlier and gave them pretty golden hue. just the color and not real gold, if that’s what you are thinking. so if you are interested, i am assuming you have yet to purchase the two GS60 announced in March and May. else you will probably be cursing and swearing by now. there was a time when Dell thought small laptops have no place in the gaming world. a notion subsequently challenged by Razer and proven wrong. it was a shame that Dell chose to axe the M11x years ago. it was a great machine. i know it because i had one. but it looks like someone in the circle had a change of heart and Dell is bringing back small gaming laptop by the way of Alienware 13. ok, maybe it is not as small as the netbook-ish M11x, but it’s a start. as the product name denotes, this is a 13-inch rig, but little is known about this new kid, except for a few things, including it weighs four and half pounds and will be less than an inch thick.
