2016 Chevrolet Camaro Unveiled, is Leaner and Packs More Horses

The sixth-generation Camaro has finally been unveiled on Saturday and as we all know, it is kind of a big deal for Chevrolet because it is a Camaro. The new generation fastback muscle car is said to offer a more nimble driving experience, attributed by an all-new, lighter architecture and of course, a broader powertrain range. That said, we will never understand the rationale of offering a wide engine range. I mean. It is a Camaro for goodness sake. It is supposed to perform and as such why do you need an entry-level 2.0L turbo unit? Not that 275 horse and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) coming from the 2.0L unit is anything shabby, but it is pretty pale when compared to the 3.6 V6 powertrain which delivers 335 hp and 284 lb-ft (385 Nm) of torque and the range-topping 6.2L V8 of the Camaro SS that pumps out 455 horses and 455 lb-ft (617 Nm) of torque. Texas-based Bloodshed Motors Turns a Classic 1968 Mustang into a 800HP Silent Monster

What are the odds of an American Muscle car lover who is also an electric car lover? That would constitutes too a tiny population in the U.S. of which you will probably find them in Texas where Mitch Medford’s Bloodshed Motors does the business of converting classic cars into octane-charged high-speed electric machines that will give most supercars a run for their money and without the harmful emission. Leading by example, Mitch has converted a 68’ Mustang into a monster vehicle, which he calls Zombie 222, producing over 800 ponies and a mind-blowing 1,800 lb-ft of torque (2,438 Nm!). That’s an insane abundance of torque that we are surprised that the car isn’t all twisted out of shape yet. And the performance is nothing short of remarkable; Zombie 222 rockets from zero to sixty miles an hour (96 kph) in mere 2.4 seconds and makes a sub-eleven seconds quarter-mile, coming in at 10.7 seconds at 125 mph (201 kph). Tom Bailey’s 69 Camaro “Sick Seconds 2.0” is a 4,000HP Street Legal Car

We have long heard about the legend of imports being cranked up to a couple of thousand ponies, but seriously, those monster power rides will probably never set foot (or in this case, wheels) on the regular roads. Not in the case of Tom Bailey’s creation, the second generation Sick Seconds car simply refer to as Sick Seconds 2.0 which, like its predecessor, is completely street legal and it has Michigan plate (appropriately registered as ’sickest’) to prove that. Based on a 69’ Camaro, this living, breathing beast (just short of fire breathing) was unveiled at 2015 Detroit Autorama in the O’Reilly booth. Though street legal, it looks nothing like one, really. I mean it is decidedly a drag car or more correctly, a Pro-mod and for good reasons. Continue reading Tom Bailey’s 69 Camaro “Sick Seconds 2.0” is a 4,000HP Street Legal Car

As far as the motor is concerned, the star of the show is clearly the flat-plane crankshaft, usually found in race cars or some exotic European sports cars.
