Xbox One Game Controller Coffee Table Is Xbox Fanboys’ Dream Come True

Xbox, unlike Nintendo Entertainment System (or NES), is not quite a classic yet, but that doesn’t stop South Carolina artist Scott Blackwell of WoodCurve from turning out a giant-ass Xbox game controller as a functional coffee table, aptly called Handmade Xbox One Game Controller Coffee Table. Scott managed to mimic the likeness of the Microsoft game console’s controller, complete with the requisite buttons, directional thumbstick and D-pad, but it is, however, not an exact form. It is similar enough that any gamer can instantly recognize as one. Continue reading Xbox One Game Controller Coffee Table Is Xbox Fanboys’ Dream Come True

This Heated Comforter With Table Will Have You Glued To Your Bed

What constitutes to a brilliant invention? Well, that’s debatable, but our book says that if an invention addresses two or more issues, and specifically targeted at the long, cold winter that’s too-cold-to-go-to-work, then it is a brilliant invention. Looking our own ‘requisites’, it seems that the Square Kotatsu Gino Table qualifies as a brilliant invention. From the product name, its appeal may not be immediately apparent, but allow me to explain. Square Kotatsu Gino Table is in fact a heated comforter with, wait for this… an integrated table! The Woodieful Chair Is A Transformer Furniture Without Transforming

For a tiny space, furniture selection becomes tricky. Have too many of them, you’d be making the small space even smaller and knocking over them every other time. With this in mind, Slovenia-based designer Klavdija Jarc conceived The Woodieful Chair which she refer to as “adaptable piece of furniture.” While it is called a ‘chair’, The Woodieful Chair is actually the Transformers of furniture, but without the fancy folding mechanism or quirky transforming noises. Just flip it over and it can be a mini coffee table, or a side table, or flip it again (or and again) to turn it into a shelf/rack for storing magazines, hold up your longboard (yes, even longboard), or whatnot. Star Trek Pinball Machine Coffee Table Is The Ultimate Furniture For Trekkies

Despite it being horizontal, the original Star Trek pinball playfield is a fully functional pinball machine controlled via electronic means. As you can see, it is a sight to behold and the best part is, it is also a coffee table, which means, trekkies who are non-pinball fans can also appreciate the Star Trek shuttlecraft coffee table. Perhaps most importantly, it can sit right smack in your living in all its shuttlecraft glory, cos’ hey, you do need a coffee table after all, right? Though a coffee table, I doubt any appreciative Trekkies would put anything on table top. I know I won’t for two simple reasons: first, to prevent it from getting scratches and second, I won’t want that beautiful 1991 Data East’s Star Trek pinball playfield to be obstructed from my guests’ envious eyes. Ikea Made A Table That Compels Diners To Interact In The Old Fashion Way

Social media is a modern day invention that aims to keep people connected, but mankind’s obsessive nature has turn it into one of the world’s greatest irony. The more we are connected, the more disconnected we are – thanks in part to the handy, ‘super computer’ – the smartphone. Apart from basic voice communication, smartphone allows access to social media services wherever, whenever and this result in folks interacting with their mobile devices more than they do with actual people sitting right next to them on a dining table. So, how do you get people to interact in the old fashion way when dining? Well, for Ikea Taiwan, it is to create a dining table that will compel diners to focus on the food and real interaction instead of taking selfie or composing Instagram-worthy foodfie, or checking out Facebook or Twitter every other minute. Making Your Own Table is a Snap with These Artistic Snap Furniture Legs

Many years ago, I came up with a furniture idea to suit a particular space I had and it consisted of cinder blocks and table tops I acquired from Ikea. It looked cool, but it was never secured as the table top only rest on the cinder blocks and that’s not mention cinder blocks height are not exactly the same across the board, resulting in some unevenness. If only back then there was Snap, I wouldn’t have to do what I did. So what exactly is snap? In simplest way to put it, Snap are furniture legs that allow you to turn any flat piece of material into a table or shelf that fits your space. Have a narrow space, but need a table? Cut or source for a triangular piece with the dimension required, snap some Snap on and voila! a table that fits your space. Old Apple Power Mac G5 Units Turned Into Fabulous Office Furniture

Any person with the eyes for beautiful objects will agree that Power Mac G5 was quite a design marvel. Even after more than a decade on, the aluminum full-size tower chassis with the trademark perforated front panel remains a thing of beauty and as such, it will be a complete waste to trash it after its expected lifespan. And this is precisely the inspiration behind designer Klause Geiger’s Power Mac G5-based series of furniture. Instead of sending the aged G5 to the trash or recycling center, Geiger upcycles them into functional furniture, starting with benches. The bench is made up of two Power Mac G5 towers, with their innards gutted, of course, and a carved wooden board bridges the two towers, sitting perfectly in the voids between the G5s’ handles. The ends of the plank are machined to perfectly match the curved of the Power Mac G5 chassis, making it looks like the Macs were almost destined as benches for their second life.
