exotic supercars are no longer exclusive to big names like Lamborghini, Pagani and the likes. more and more ‘independent’ automakers have sprung up in the recent years and from the most unlikely countries. we seen pleasant surprises from Russia, Polish, Spain, Middle East, Denmark and now, get ready to meet the latest entrant to the supercar domain, the Mexican VUHL 05 Supercar. with a design along the line of topless concepts like the KTM X-Bow, you know this roadster has but only one object: go at great speed on the track. and speed it certainly has; its Ford-sourced 2.0-liter turbo four EcoBoost engine puts out 285 horses (212 kW) and 310 lb-ft of torque (420 Nm), and together with a six-speed manual gearbox, enabling this 1,532 lbs (or 695 kg, which about 150 lighter than the X-Bow, if anyone is counting) super roadster to make the century sprint in just 3.7 seconds and finally maxing out at 152 mph (245 km/h).

other key features include a RTM reinforced plastic wrapped aluminum monocoque chassis (carbon fiber panels are offered as option), four-pot calipers all-round, ventilated cross-drilled rotor up front, OZ alloy wheels (17-inch front; 18-inch rear), carbon bucket seats, electronic data acquisition dash, integral HD camera; and since roof isn’t an option, it has a quick release, water-resistant suede-covered steering wheel and a cabin covered in water-resistant Dinamica suede for, you know, those sudden bad days. the VUHL 05 Supercar is available for order as we speaks and customers in the UK and North America with £55,000 or more to spare will be among to see this ride in Spring 2014. availability in other “key” European countries, China, Middle East et cetera will be announced “in due course.” more drool-worthy images after the break.
