Not every day you get to make your beloved ride look like a racing homologation special. Let’s not include random custom kits in the picture. We are talking about an official kit from the race team itself to make your car look like something straight out of the Super GT series. The ARTA GT FL5 Kit is exactly that. As the product name suggests, it is tailored for the FL5 Honda Civic Type R, which shares the same platform as cars competing in the SUPER GT GT500 class.
Obviously, it is not a one-to-one replica of the race car for road-compliance reasons, but it may well be the closest anyone can get to the ARTA Super GT machine. For those who do not know, ARTA is the racing arm of Japanese automotive retail giant Autobacs Seven Co., Ltd. The name stands for Autobacs Racing Team Aguri. The original custom car ARTA GT FL5 debuted at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026.
The project was developed under the theme “ARTA race machine for the public road.” In other words, take the visual aggression and performance philosophy of a GT500 car and translate it into something enthusiasts can actually drive on normal roads.
Development involved some serious motorsport pedigree. Former Formula 1 driver Aguri Suzuki and legendary drift driver Keiichi Tsuchiya helped steer the design and performance parts selection, while Super GT driver Tomoki Nojiri handled circuit setup of the prototype. The goal was simple: no compromise in both looks and driving performance.
Visually, the ARTA GT FL5 Kit transforms the Civic Type R into something far more race-ready. The front end features a massive opening that improves both downforce and cooling efficiency. The widened overfenders incorporate ducts with air outlets to manage airflow around the body. Around the back, things get serious with an aggressive rear diffuser and a swan-neck GT wing that would not look out of place on a proper GT race car.
Underneath the visual drama, the package also includes tuning for the turbocharger and suspension system to complement the aerodynamic upgrades. The result is a Civic Type R that looks ready for the grid while still being usable on public roads or track days.
Only 20 units of the ARTA GT FL5 Complete Kit will be produced. If you want your Civic Type R to carry some genuine Super GT DNA, you might want to move quickly. Oh, wait… well, it’s gone and yes, even at a pretty insane asking price of 13,500,000 yen (tax excluded) [JP]. This works out to be around US$85,565, which is almost the price of two 2026 Honda Civic Type R (FL5) in the U.S.
