These Toy Figures Photos Are The Best Thing To Happen To Plastic Toys

Toy Action Figures Photography by Instagrammer Hot.Kenobi

Toy action figures you find at retail stores like Toy’r Us are, well, just toys. Unlike those coming from Hot Toys, they are designed to be played with (or should we say, ‘toyed’ with) by kids and sometimes, grown ups like myself. In other words, they are hardly worthy of collectors’ time. I guess we can blame it on its mass-produced, less-than-idea quality, but one Japanese Instagrammer, Hot.Kenobi, changed the way we look at these ‘toy-quality’ action figures.

By combining awesome photography with photo editing, Hot.Kenobi breaths life into seemingly mundane plastic action figures and without the need for words, his photos of figures setup in various situations (like Spiderman inserting Cap’s shield into a CD player as the protesting Cap is being restrained by the Hulk) managed to achieve a storytelling effect which are often comedic. It is an absolute enjoyment browsing Hot.Kenobi’s works of art on Instagram.

Just a few minutes into it, I am already hooked and also, had some favorites imprinted in my mind. Speaking of which, do stick around for a moment and browse through some of our picks and if your heart flutters at what you see, then do hit up Hot.Kenobi’s Instagram page to view even more awesomeness.

Cap: Spidey! Noooo….
I wonder what gaming were they playing?
Who’s that Spider?
As long as you are Bat, even a scooter is enough to impress Harley Quinn. So long, sucker… wait I mean, Joker.

And now for some (can) crushing good time…

Didn’t I say a crushing good time?
Spidey’s web is THIS powerful?
I think Hulk had one too many Japanese beer…
