1985 Tamiya Wild One RC Car Relaunched As A Full-scale, Drivable Vehicle!

The Little Car Company Tamiya Wild One MAX Launch Edition

The Tamiya Wild One, which was launched in 1985, is among the most iconic radio-controlled cars from Tamiya. It was so iconic that it was re-released in 2012 and again, soon, this summer but with a twist. The purveyor of limited-edition hand-built electric scale cars, The Little Car Company, today revealed that the Tamiya Wild One MAX Launch Edition will be relaunched as a full-scale vehicle.

Yup. Believe it. I guess it is a wish come true for kids growing up in the 80s who ever wished the Wild One will become a driveable car. If you are one of these dreamers, this is it but you may have to act on it quickly because the Launch Edition is limited to just 100 examples.

Following the revealed of the launch edition, the Tamiya Wild One MAX will be publicly unveiled this Summer. Keep going for the Launch Edition specifications straight from the horse’s mouth:

L7e classification is a four-wheeled heavy quadricycle designed to carry persons, with an unladen mass of 450 kilograms (about 100 lbs, excluding batteries) or less.

The Launch Edition will offer an increase in size, usability, and performance, said The Little Car Company. Production of the Launch Edition will commence in early 2024.

You can pre-order today by placing a full-refundable deposit of £100 (about US$125) at Wildonemax.com today. However, the final price of this super exciting vehicle has not been revealed. Meanwhile, here’s a promo video of the radio-controlled car from 1985 to stir up the nostalgia in you:
