Xiaomi Mijia 4 Max Wants You to Forget What Emptying a Vacuum Feels Like

Mijia 4 Max Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner

If you ask me, emptying the dustbin is the part of vacuuming that sucks the most. Well, it looks like Xiaomi agrees. The new Mijia Cordless Vacuum Cleaner 4 Max comes armed with 280 AW of suction, but the real party trick is the self-emptying station.

Instead of dumping dust into the trash every few days, the dock automatically sucks the contents out of the vacuum and stores them in a 3-liter antibacterial dust bag that Xiaomi says can last up to 100 days.

Of course, the vacuum itself is no slouch. An 800 W high-speed brushless motor spinning at up to 150,000 rpm delivers a maximum vacuum pressure of 27,000 Pa, while smart dirt detection automatically adjusts suction power to match the mess.

Throw in anti-tangle brushes, a removable battery good for up to 90 minutes, eight-stage filtration, and enough attachments to make a Swiss Army knife blush, and the Mijia 4 Max starts to look less like a vacuum cleaner and more like a cleaning command center.

Pet owners may appreciate Xiaomi’s claim that the vacuum can remove 99.5 percent of cat and dog dander. A dual anti-tangle system promises to deal with up to 300 strands of long hair without turning the brush into something that resembles Cousin Itt. The floor brush even has a right-side edge-cleaning design to get closer to walls and corners, while a 180-degree blue-light illumination system helps expose dirt hiding in dark spots.

To keep the suction going strong, Xiaomi employs a 12-cone cyclone separation system designed to reduce clogging and maintain airflow. Dirt detection sensors automatically adjust suction power depending on how filthy the floor is, saving battery when things are relatively clean and unleashing more power when required.

Speaking of battery life, the removable 4,000 mAh pack can provide up to 90 minutes of runtime. Different cleaning heads offer runtimes ranging from 60 to 90 minutes in Eco mode, though maximum power naturally drops that figure considerably.

The Mijia 4 Max comes with enough attachments to make Swiss Army knives jealous. There is a motorized soft roller floor brush, a mite-removal brush for beds and sofas, a dedicated sofa brush, an extension hose, a 2-in-1 crevice tool, and even a pet grooming brush for furry companions.

Xiaomi did not stop there. The vacuum and its self-emptying station feature a combined eight-stage filtration system capable of trapping particles down to 0.3 μm, with a claimed filtration efficiency of 99.99 percent. The antibacterial 3-liter dust bag can hold up to 100 days’ worth of debris, while the station empties the dustbin in around 11 seconds with a collection efficiency of 99 percent.

Convenience features include an LCD, integrated accessory storage, washable filters and components, app connectivity through Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, and automatic dust collection that can even be triggered through smart home routines.

Measuring 1,173 mm (46.2 inches) tall and weighing 10.2 kilograms (22.5 pounds) with the collection station, the Mijia Cordless Vacuum Cleaner 4 Max seems intent on proving that even vacuum cleaners are joining the horsepower wars. Except in this case, the battle is against dust bunnies.

The Mijia 4 Max Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner has been launched in China at an introductory price of 2,304 yuan [CH] (U.P. 2,599 yuan), which is about 341 USD based on the current going rate at the time of this post.
