Minivan aka MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) is usually anything but edgy. It is a type of car that synonymous with dropping kids at soccer practice. But not with the new Hyundai STARIA.

With Hyundai STARIA, Hyundai make no apologies about the straight lines. It is as futuristic looking as a minivan can get. I’d say, it could be the ride of choice for Batman he had a MPV.

And why not? Because, the entire entourage of Justice League could pack in it since the STARIA is available in 2 to 11-seat configurations. No conversion necessary to look the part.

Not going to lie. I am sold by the aesthetic. It makes me want to drive a minivan. Man, it just look so good.

As of now, two variants were revealed: STARIA and STARIA Premium and two engine options, namely, a diesel-powered 2.2L VGT engine producing 175 BHP and 431 Nm (318 lb-ft) and a gasoline-powered Smartstream G6DIII 3.5L MPI engine that puts out 268 BHP and 331 Nm (244 lb-ft) of torque.

The diesel motor is paired to an air-cooled turbocharger and a choice of 6- or 8-speed automatic gearbox while the gas-powered engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Some of the design features include horizontal daytime running lights, low-set headlights, panoramic side windows, elongated vertical taillights, lower rear bumper for ease go loading and unloading stuff, digital cluster, center console with cup holders, USB ports and more storage space, 10.25-inch front display screen, touch-based center fascia, and a button-type electronic shift lever – just to pick out a few.
