AGM G2 Guardian Rugged Smartphone: Thermal Imaging To As Far As 1,640 Feet!

AGM G2 Guardian Rugged Smartphone

Meanwhile in the world of rugged smartphones, AGM Mobile announces the AGM G2 Guardian. Billed as the most ambitious premium rugged smartphone in the market, the AGM G2 Guardian Rugged Smartphone is the world’s first smartphone to integrate a long-range thermal monocular capable of detecting heat signatures as far as 500 meters (1,640 feet).

The integrated thermal imager on the AGM G2 Guardian is capable of picking up heat signatures even through smoke, fog, and in total darkness – thanks to a powerful 10 mm objective lens that offers a 17.5° x 13.2° FoV and pro-grade 12 µm thermal imaging sensor. It is able to measure temperatures ranging from 0°C to 150°C from a distance of 2 to 8 meters (6.6 to 26 feet).

And doing so while displaying the maximum, minimum, and average temperatures in real-time on the screen. Finally, the thermal imager supports up to 5.6x magnification and supports both auto and manual focusing.

The thermal imaging camera is part of the quad-camera setup which also includes a 108 MP main camera featuring a Samsung sensor, a 2 MP macro camera, and a 20 MP Infrared night vision camera. Yep. It also has an IR camera. Pretty snazzy, IMHO.

Over the front, it is armed with a 32 MP selfie camera.

The device is IP68 and IP69K rated and it is built to MIL-STD-810H standards. This means it is dust- and waterproof, resisting up to 99% of dust, cement, lime, or industrial powders, and survive at least 30 minutes immersed in 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) deep water.

Plus, it can survive drops from up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) onto concrete surfaces.

The rugged device further features dual-frequency GPS with a margin of error of just 3 meters (9.8 feet). Another survival feature is the SOS signal which can be activated during an emergency by pressing the main button five times.

When you do so, the phone will automatically call your local emergency number (112 in China or 911 in the USA).

There is also an AGM SOS which you can trigger through the customizable button. This will activate an acoustic and visual alarm using the 109 dB super loud speaker and the 100 lumens bright flash.

The AGM G2 Guardian is powered by QCM6490, an industrial-grade octacore chip from Qualcomm, and packs 8/12 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage which is further expandable via TF card.

Other spec sheet details include a 120 Hz 6.58-inch FHD+ display, global bands covering 5G/4G/3G/2G mobile networks from major carriers around the world, dual-SIM nano, WiFi 6, NFC, 3.5 mm headphone jack, Corning Gorilla Glass, fingerprint sensor, and whopping 7,000 mAh.

If you are down, you may pre-order the new AGM G2 Guardian Rugged Smartphone from agmmobile.com for a starting price of US$899. It is available as a T-Mobile version or as an unlocked device.
