The Mac mini has always been Apple’s “small but mighty” desktop, but this year, Apple has taken the “mini” part to new heights – or rather, lack of them. Shrinking it down to just a 5-by-5-inch powerhouse, the new Mac mini can now disappear under just about anything.
Powered by the M4 and M4 Pro, this pint-sized powerhouse can handle intense tasks without breaking a sweat. It’s faster than most desktops in its class, and with the M4 Pro’s record-breaking single-core speed, even time-intensive tasks look like casual warm-ups.
But don’t let its tiny frame fool you – this machine is packed with features, from 20 GPU cores for top-tier gaming or rendering to support for multiple 6K displays, and a crisp new macOS Sequoia that includes real-time iPhone mirroring. So, while it may be mini on the outside, it’s all-pro on the inside, letting you whip through 4K video editing, complex Excel calculations, and gaming with ease.
Apple also leaned hard into sustainability with the new Mac mini, making it the first-ever carbon-neutral Mac, thanks to 100 percent recycled materials and ocean-friendly shipping. With packaging that’s entirely fiber-based, Apple might actually manage to hit its no-plastic goal by 2025.
Prices start at US$599 for the M4 model and jump to US$1,399 for the M4 Pro, making the Mac mini a green, lean computing machine that’s still mini in every way but the performance. The new Apple mini is available for pre-order now with official availability on November 08, 2024.
