The Northern Lights are beautiful. Unfortunately, they’re also rather difficult to strap onto your wrist. Bell & Ross has found the next best thing. Meet the Bell & Ross BR-03 GMT Green Lum, a limited-edition GMT watch that borrows its color palette from the Aurora Borealis.
The dial fades from black to green in a vertical gradient, recreating the glow dancing across the night sky. It is a subtle effect in daylight, but once darkness falls, things get a whole lot brighter.
That’s because Bell & Ross has practically drenched the watch in green Super-LumiNova C3. The numerals, hour markers, hands, the 24-hour bezel markings, and even the tiny airplane-shaped tip on the GMT hand all glow brilliantly, making the watch every bit as useful at 2 AM as it is at 2 PM.
The GMT function is equally practical. Local time is displayed on the dial, while the dedicated GMT hand works with the bi-directional 24-hour rotating bezel to track a second time zone. Whether you’re a pilot, a frequent flyer, or simply trying to remember whether your overseas colleague is awake, it has you covered.
Powering the watch is the automatic BR-CAL.303 movement with a 54-hour power reserve. Everything sits inside Bell & Ross’ signature 42 mm satin-finished and polished steel case, paired with a black rubber strap and an additional ultra-resilient black synthetic fabric strap. It is water-resistant to 100 meters (328 feet) too, so the only thing you need to worry about is finding the Northern Lights.
Limited to 500 pieces worldwide, the Bell & Ross BR-03 GMT Green Lum is available now for US$5,000.
