Yup. More undies, and we sure damn well have to tell you about this. Also from Hipshop—a.k.a. the king of bringing pop culture to underwear, even though nobody’s going to be seeing it—is a celebratory underpants collection marking Back to the Future’s 40th anniversary this year.
Unlike franchises like Ultraman and Transformers, BTTF has more than just characters to work with. Altogether, there are six designs to choose from, each featuring front and back prints. The designs available include Chapter 01, Chapter 02, Chapter 03, Time Machine, Marty McFly, and Dr. Emmet Brown.
You can find key characters, machines, and scenes on these unique underwear. Three designs pay tribute to the three films, including scenes from the ending of BTTF II featuring the stormy night at the clock tower, the fiery trail that sends Marty back to the future, one dedicated to the DeLorean time machine, one featuring several Martys’ back views and the OUTATIME license plate, and finally, one boasting several Doc Browns with the remote and Einstein in the Time Machine.
To be honest, the graphics do not make a lot of sense. It feels like an artistic paste-work more than anything else. Anyhoo, I guess they make for collectibles for super fans of the franchise.
As for the material, each pair of underpants is made of quick-drying, stretchy polyester material with sweat-wicking properties, keeping you cool and dry. Each underpants has beautifully designed packaging that is collector-worthy. From the front, they look more like miniature posters. If that’s not enough, each purchase from Hipshop stores will get you a Back to the Future shopper bag. Like, how cool is that?
The Hipshop Back to the Future Men’s Underwear was launched on October 17, 2025, and it is available in three sizes for grown-ups (M/L/LL). (Sorry, nothing for kids). They are available now in Japan through both online and offline Hipshop stores for 2,800 yen [JP] (about 18 US dollars).
