if odd-looking shape speakers are your cup of tea, then perhaps these OMA Monarch speakers might interest you. touted as the “new standard for a two-way speaker”, the butterfly-like speaker features two 15-inch woofers mounted in an unique enclosure, OMA’s proprietary cast aluminum alloy horn and compression drivers. so what’s with the wooden “butterfly wings”? well, according to its maker, the “large solid wood baffles help load the woofers and make room placement far less demanding.” but then it is huge, isn’t? the Monarch will be available in a range of wood types and finishes, though no firm indication on its price and availability as yet. with a design like this – aesthetic before sound – it is safe to assume that these baby is going to cost you an arm or a leg. unless OMA decides to prove me wrong. you know, i am just saying. a few more look after the break.
