BTS and OREO Just Created a Cookie Inspired by Korean Street Food

Limited Edition OREO & BTS Cookies

Here’s one delicious piece of news for fans of one of the biggest boy bands in the world, BTS. That’s right, fans of BTS, a.k.a. ARMY, do take note. Then again, you guys probably already knew this. Anyhoo, BTS has teamed up with Oreo for the group’s first-ever global snack collaboration, and the result is a cookie inspired by a taste of home.

The limited-edition OREO & BTS cookies feature a sweet crème inspired by hotteok, the beloved Korean brown sugar-filled pancake often found at street markets. The collab also introduces Oreo’s first-ever purple wafers and 13 unique cookie embossments designed by BTS to celebrate the group’s 13th anniversary. Expect member names, the BTS light stick, and hidden messages for fans to collect.

But why purple? The purple wafer detail is particularly relevant because “I purple you” and the color purple have become closely associated with BTS and ARMY through BTS member Kim Tae-hyung, better known as V.

The limited-edition cookies went on presale June 1, with retail availability beginning June 8 across more than 80 markets worldwide. Unfortunately, and also not surprisingly, the presale was sold out
