We are not sure why anybody want to remove the polarization filter from a smartphone, but someone did. A search online shows that this is not the first. However, the person who did it in video did one extra thing.

He removed the polarization filter from a phone screen and applied it to a pair of eyewear. The result is you can’t see anything unless you have the special glasses on. I wonder if any polarized glasses will work?

Needing a glass to view the display feel like some spy gadget. Cool, but clearly not practical. I am still wondering why would anyone feel the need to do that? Maybe for science? You can have a look at the video below:
