If you didn’t know, racing seat maker Recaro has a Child Safety department where they make, well, child seats for cars. And as expected, they’re just as body-hugging as their race car seats. The child seat you see here is its latest, called the Xenon 1. Let me assure you that this is not an April Fools’ Day prank. Recaro does have a child safety division. Their Axion child seat even snagged the iF Design Award 2025.
Now, back to the Recaro Xenon 1 Child Seat for Automobiles. Designed for kids from birth up to 7 years old, this seat is all about safety and comfort. It features a 360° rotation for effortless entry and exit, an ergonomic design, a soft newborn insert, and effective ventilation. There’s also plenty of room, so your kid won’t feel like they’re stuffed into an F1 cockpit.
It’s designed in Germany, meets top safety standards, and looks pretty sleek while doing it. Unfortunately, Recaro Child Safety isn’t currently shipping to the U.S., Canada, or Australia. If you’re lucky enough to be in a supported region, you can check for local retailers HERE.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, no, it doesn’t come with a five-point harness rated for Nürburgring lap records. But it does make every ride feel like a first-class experience—for the kid, at least. Recaro has the desire to cover all humans’ seating needs from 0-whatever ages, whether in the car as a child, as a grown-up, or even at home.
