sleek nostalgic looking Miluira: a souped up golf-cart?

Takayanagi announced its first commercially available electric car, the Miluira, to be shipped in March 2011. this retro looking vehicle has every look of class – in a retro way. there’s a catch though – it’s only 1-seater. duh! now, this car really makes the SMART car look slightly better isn’t it?

aside from the look-factor, the specs isn’t going to impress anyone to plonk down a whopping plonk ¥6.3 million (approximately $76,000). check the specs out: the Miluira has a top speed of 60 km/h and a range of 35 km before it needs to be plugged into any household outlet for at least 12-hours for it to fully recharged. yes, not very enticing. really.

with that kind of specs, we wouldn’t even put it on par with a go-kart. more like a souped up golf-cart but wait, those wheels are not golf course friendly, are they? but if you have the money to spare, you probably can get this for sake of nostalgia. come to think of it, the car do have a pre-war imperial Japan feel. does it? i would love to have one to drive round my yard.
