A little over a decade ago, the concept of a robot vacuum that mops were alien to many (but there was a “floor washing” robot). The robot vacuum business keeps breaking new grounds and today, we learned that days of changing “mopping pad” were over.
Well, at least it is for the Smartmi A1 Robot Vacuum with Wet Dry Vac. This also means the day of vacuuming and then mopping is over because the Smartmi A1 Robot Vacuum with Wet Dry Vac vacuums and washes the floor at the same time.
If that’s not enough, the auto mop self-cleans while mopping. Moreover, it touts dirty water isolation, ensuring the dirty never mixes with the clean. This means where it vacuumed and mopped, it’d be actually clean. When all is done, this little guy will return to its dock and diligently clean the mop roller and dries it to prevent molding.
Whether is wet or dry debris, this robot will suck it all up and mop the area for good measure.
Other notables include a 600 ml water tank, super-fast scrubbing (at 1,600 RPM), powerful 4,000 Pa wet-dry suction, smart mapping, and navigation, covers up to 1,065 ft2, and Xiaomi Home Integration.
Oh, right. For those who don’t already know, like the Jya air purifiers, Smartmi is a subsidiary held by Xiaomi.
Naturally, a robot vacuum with so many innovations does not come cheap. It is expected to retail for 7,055 Hong Kong dollars (which is a shocking 900 bucks) but during its pre-sale campaign on Indiegogo, you can secure a unit for up to 44% off, at 3,920 HKD, or around US$499, according to Indiegogo.
