Meet The World’s Smallest Travel High Zoom Cameras From Sony

Sony Cyber-shot High Zoom Cameras

The new Sony Cyber-shot, the DSC-HX99 and DSC-HX95, maybe incredibly compact, but they packs quite a punch, especially with respect to zooming. Affording them with high zoom is the ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* optics which allows it a zoom range of 24 mm up to an astonishing 720 mm super-telephoto. Furthermore, it gets 4K movie recording and at the heart of both models, is the BIONZ X image processing engine, paired to a front-end LSI that affords it with high-speed continuous shooting at up to 10 fps with a buffer limit up to 155 images.

They are fast too, with an AF speed of mere 0.09 seconds. Other worthy mentions include Eye AF, RAW format image recording, touch focus/touch shutter function, 180-degree tilt-able LCD screen, retractable OLED Tru-Finder, customizable Control Ring (only on HX99), customizable and personalizable menu, and location data acquisition via Bluetooth.

The new Sony Cyber-shot, the DSC-HX99 and DSC-HX95, starts shipping in Europe starting this month with the HX99 to be available in stateside at a yet to be disclosed date. Strangely, we did not see the HX95 on the U.S. site. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX99 and DSC-HX95 sells for €520 and €500 (around US$604 and US$580), respectively, in the EU market.
