Artist Imagines War Machines If WWII Continued Through To The 50s

Beyond WWII War Machines by Michal Kus

War sucks. War is no good. Regardless, I am fascinated by war machines that were the direct results of conflicts. I bet Poland concept artist Michal Kus must have shared the same fascination. The difference is, he has the knack for imagination AND translating them into beautiful art. Kus imagine what happens if the second world war continued into the 50s.

In a personal project dubbed 1952, he reimagines what these war machines will look like when injected with advanced technologies. Well, not that the 50s had much technological advancements to offer, but hey, it’s fantasy stuff and that’s all it matters.

The resulting illustrations/concept arts are some serious sci-fi, machine punk stuff that draws inspiration from some actual WWII machines, including 50s jet-inspired vertical takeoff fighter, biped walking mechs and advanced shock therapy tanks. Basically, stuff of sci-fi that we yearn to see but have no wish that it will happen. Think you get the idea.

Anywho, more importantly is, Michal Kus has magical hands. Just look at those lines! Clean and precise. Seriously, these artworks just blew my mind away! Really inspiring. Uh, I mean the concept arts, not the conflict theme, btw. You can check out Michal Kus’ extensive collection of works over at his ArtStation page. Seriously, you won’t want to miss it.
