There are two kinds of people watching TV: those trying to follow the story and those asking where it was filmed, who that actor is, and what else they have been in. Apple’s new TV 4K gives the second group someone else to talk to. Folks, Siri has joined movie night.
The fourth-generation box gets Siri AI for conversational searches and follow-up questions while watching. Three far-field microphones let you ask hands-free, with answers appearing in an overlay. Siri AI requires a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, and launches in beta.
Inside, an A19 chip promises up to 50% faster CPU performance and twice the GPU performance, plus dedicated AV1 decoding for efficient streaming.
You can also assemble four-speaker surround sound using HomePod mini 2 or second-generation HomePods, with matching front and rear pairs and automatic calibration. Built-in Thread connectivity keeps smart-home duties covered, too.
Meanwhile, the new Siri Remote adds Precision Finding with compatible iPhones and an audible locator. Because a more intelligent television setup should at least help find the thing lost between the cushions.
The Apple TV 4K (4th generation) is available to preorder for US$299, with availability beginning November 13, 2026.
