BLU G91 Pro Gaming Smartphone Is Powered By MediaTek Gaming Chipset, Costs Under US$200

BLU G91 Pro Gaming Smartphone

Just when we thought that 1,999 yuan (about US$309 today) for a so-called gaming smartphone is cheap, BLU Products come along and introduced BLU G91 Pro Gaming Smartphone.

At just US$249.99 a pop, it beats the Redmi K40 Gaming Enhanced Edition not just by price, but also availability since BLU Products is a Miami-based company and its phone is readily available stateside.

Granted, BLU G91 Pro Gaming Smartphone does not have Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. But at least it has a gaming-focused chipset, the MediaTek Helio G90 gaming chipset featuring a 2.05 GHz octa-core processor (2x ARM Cortex-A76 and 6x ARM Cortex-A55).

The chip is bolstered by an 800 MHz ARM Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU for graphics duties and packs 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of ROM. The latter is expandable up to 128 GB via a MicroSD card.

Furthermore, this being a BLU, you’d be getting an unadulterated pure Android experience (Android 11, in this instance). So, what’s not to love right? I mean, a gaming smartphone with pure Android experience and at under US$250. I don’t believe we have anything like that in the market at this point.

Fronting the device is a curved 6.7-inch in-cell FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) display that packs 395 ppi and in 20:9 aspect ratio. Within this display, you will find a 16 MP hole-punch camera capable of 1080p (@ 30fps video recording.

Meanwhile, over at the rear, there is a quad-camera setup comprising of a 48 MP main camera, a 5 MP wide-angle (115o) camera, a 2 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The main camera is capable of up to 4K videoing at 30 fps.

BLU G91 Pro Gaming Smartphone is available now exclusively on Amazon.com where there is a limited time discount of US$50 going on. This means you’d be scoring the device for just US$199.99.

However, do note that if you want the device at this price, be sure to act on it fast because we do not know when the offer will end.

BLU Aria Pod+ True Wireless Earbuds (US$29.99)

On related news, BLU has also dropped its new BLU Aria Pod+, a pair of true wireless earbuds with 18 hours of battery life, for – believe it or not, just 30 bucks. Damn. How is BLU earning any money??!
