This Carapace, A Hyper Luxurious Superyacht And It Is Also A Submarine

Carapace Superyacht/Submarine Hybrid

Folks, this is the Carapace. It is a 256 feet (78 meters) luxury superyacht/submarine hybrid that offers billionaire and his/her entourage the luxury of yachting as well as the privacy of a submarine. It can accommodate up to 11 guests across its 6 cabins, and it is manned by a crew of 15.

Designed by naval architect/industrial designer Elena Nappi, who works for shipbuilder Fincantieri S.p.A., Carapace looks like a dream vessel of James Bond’s supervillains. Don’t you think? Just saying…

The Carapace is a full-fledged superyacht, btw, and as such, it will have all the amenities and luxury expect of a superyacht, and more.

Carapace features a light aluminum superstructure… wait. Can a vessel that is designed to dive nearly 985 feet (300 meters) deep, made of aluminum? TBH, I have my doubts. But who am I to question, right?

Anyways… the ship is said to have a range of 2,400 miles (3,862 kilometers) and it has a top speed of 16 knots on the surface and can travel at 13 knots whilst underwater. It can totally stay submerged in the ocean fro 10 days at a time.

It could be a dream vessel for the super rich and famous who needs stay out of the prying eyes of paparazzi.

As far as we know, Carapace Superyacht/Submarine Hybrid is still in its concept stage, but if it is built (and it could by 2021), it will command an out-of-this-world price tag of “hundreds of millions of pounds.”

Hmmm. If you were drop this obscene amount for a vessel for enjoyment with privacy, wouldn’t buying island a better option? Just throwing it out there. You can learn more about this unique vessel HERE.
