Chogokin Brings Metal Gear REX to Life in Die-Cast Glory

Chogokin Metal Gear REX Figure

If you are bitten by the Metal Gear Solid bug because of the recent resurgence of MGS brought about by the new game Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, well, then you may be interested in this collectible that pays homage to the OG MGS video game: Chogokin Metal Gear REX..

That’s right. It’s another REX, but this one ain’t no cutesy pie like MegaHouse’s. As a Chogokin, expect generous use of die-cast metal through the figure, which translates to “collectors’ worthy.” So, yeah, soon, you can make this weapon of mass destruction (shhhh, don’t let the US know about this) a captive on your shelf.

This definitive REX comes decked in a detailed camouflage paint job, complete with LED headlights that somehow make this cold death machine appear organic and fearsome like a T.rex. Its railgun stretches an intimidating 260 mm (around 10 inches), while the whole beast stands up to 180 mm (‘bout 7 inches) tall with legs extended.

Die-cast alloy parts are sprinkled throughout for that cold, weapon-grade texture, while movable die-cast spikes and countless joints ensure Rex can strike everything from “ominous stalk” to “forward-leaning death glare” poses.

Chogokin also throws in its signature armor deployment gimmick, exposing the internal frame and shiny die-cast innards for added display drama. A dedicated pedestal and support joints keep the tank steady while you decide whether Rex belongs in full battle stance or dramatic lean.

This nuclear-equipped walking apocalypse will drop in February 2026. Preorders opened August 28, 2025, with a suggested retail price of 36,300 yen (about 246 USD).
