Pre-order For G-Shock x NASA Second Collaborative Watch Will Start On April 12

G-Shock x NASA DW5600NASA21 Wrist Watch

Attention, space geeks! G-Shock is releasing its second custom DW5600 timepiece, paying homage to NASA and the Space Shuttle. Aesthetically, the new G-Shock x NASA DW5600NASA21 Wrist Watch is nearly identical to the first G-Shock x NASA collab timepiece we saw last year, save for a slight change in the colorway and texts.

This is new limited-edition timepiece, it serves to commemorate decades of space exploration and the 40th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle launch, the OV-102 STS-1 mission on April 12, 1981.

Instead of an all-white timepiece of last year’s, the DW5600NASA21 has a black case paired to a black accented white band with ‘United States” on band and “STS-1” on the other. There is, of course, the good’ol US of A flag on the band stay was wells the black ion-plated buckle.

Further distinguishing this new G-Shock x NASA collab watch is a one-of-a-kind EL backlight graphic that displays the shuttle silhouette and the years 1981 – 2021 when illuminated.

The same shuttle silhouette, along with the years, can also be found engraved on the stainless steel case back and the watch will come with a custom packaging with an outer box which reflects STS-1 Mission statistics and an inner tin that depicts the mission’s 2-day orbit around the Earth.

Beyond the NASA treatments, the DW5600NASA21 is pretty much the DW56000 you have come to know. This means, features like shock resistant, water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet), EL backlight afterglow, flash alert, 1/100th second stopwatch and more.

The G-Shock x NASA DW5600NASA21 Wrist Watch will retail for US$140 a pop. Pre-order for the watch will begin on April 12 at 7AM (ET) and it is limited to 1 unit per household.
