We may have seen the Octopus Chair, the Walrus and Rhino Chair, but those have not prepared us for what we about to see: Giant Red King Crab Sculptural Chair from Design Toscano.
The Giant Red King Crab Sculptural Chair bothers me a lot because, it looks like a cooked crab. But that’s just me.
Notwithstanding its namesake, this functional furniture does not appear to spikes. That’s a relief. Can imagine someone will want to place their bum and their lower back against a spiky crab.
Here’s the official description:
“Seen at some of the balmy Spice Islands most exclusive getaway retreats, our exotic approach to seating will make a grand-scale statement poolside or in your garden! Complete with pinchers, claws and eight wide-set legs, this whimsical crab sculpture boasts an ample garden chair with deep-seated comfort.”
Each chair is cast in fiberglass-reinforced resin and hand-painted individually which kind of explains its asking price of US$1,199. The good news is, it appears that Design Toscano has slashed the price of the Giant Red King Crab Sculptural Chair to US$899.
