Jetson ONE Just Pulled Off The First eVTOL Race—Eat Your Heart Out, Podracers

Jetson ONE eVTOL Completed First Race

Here’s one way to prove the airworthiness of a personal electric aerial vehicle, aka eVTOL: a race. Tomasz Patan’s other company, Jetson, has just achieved another milestone with its Jetson ONE eVTOL—pulling off the world’s first manned eVTOL race.

For those not in the know, Jetson ONE is more of a “traditional” eVTOL; it features a quadrotor setup and a caged frame where the cockpit sits. It can hit speeds of up to 102 km/h (63 mph) (software-limited, wink wink), and offers up to 20 minutes of flight time per charge.

The aircraft is controlled via joystick and packed with safety features, including a race car-inspired safety cell, an auto-landing system, and even a ballistic parachute. Jetson ONE recently participated in the first-ever eVTOL race, demonstrating its agility and performance. You can watch the entire race unfold in the video below.

Meanwhile, folks with the funds to spare can still pre-order a Jetson ONE from jetson.com for 2026 delivery (for US$128,000). The 2025 slots? Well, those have been spoken for, unfortunately. Skip ahead for a cinematic video of the race.
