Assuming that you still write or like to quickly sketch down ideas when they pop into your head—even mid-dream and in the dark of night—what do you do? You turn on the light or use your phone’s flashlight and start writing. But there is actually a better way, and it is called the Kikkerland Light Up Pen.
This pen is exactly what it says it is: it lights up. Its everlasting graphite tip illuminates, allowing you to record what is in your head—or what you see—on paper without reaching for a flashlight or your phone or, God forbid, walking to the light switch.
It is the go-to pen for recording ideas the moment they hit you, with or without light. Paper or notebook not included, unfortunately. It has an aluminum, TPR, and ABS construction and measures 10 cm (4 inches) long. Kikkerland confusingly lists its diameter as both 1.55 cm and 0.75 inches, even though those figures do not match. Even illuminated stationery can leave us in the dark.
It is also unclear how the illumination works—whether it is battery-powered, rechargeable, or simply uses a strong glow-in-the-dark material. However, the packaging explicitly says the pen has a “glow-in-the-dark tip,” so the latter seems most likely.
