If you have spent the last two decades wondering when Quentin Tarantino would finally unleash Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair on home video, your patience is about to pay off. Lionsgate Limited is releasing the long-rumored, much-requested cut of Kill Bill on July 28, 2026, and it is arriving in both glorious 4K and gloriously obsolete VHS.
For the uninitiated, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair combines Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into a single 253-minute revenge epic, presented as Tarantino intended. The film follows Uma Thurman’s Bride as she works her way through the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad after surviving a brutal attack orchestrated by her former lover and boss, Bill. Along the way come swords, blood, revenge, and enough yellow tracksuit energy to power a small city.
This edition is not merely the two films stitched together. It is the complete unrated version, complete with a new anime sequence and a classic intermission, making it the closest thing fans have gotten to the mythical version that has largely remained out of reach over the years.
The headline release is the Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair 4K Collector’s Edition. Presented in 4K with Dolby Vision, the four-disc set includes two 4K UHD discs and two Blu-rays, along with a 40-page behind-the-scenes booklet curated by Tarantino, two theatrical posters, five double-sided collectible character cards, and a 70 mm film still. It also includes “The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge,” a special Fortnite collaboration created using Unreal Engine 5. Yes, for reasons, Kill Bill and Fortnite now exist in the same sentence.
Then there is the version that may cause younger readers to ask their parents uncomfortable questions. The Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair VHS – Be Kind, Rewind Edition arrives as a fully playable two-tape VHS release. Lionsgate is not kidding either. This is not a decorative prop. It is an actual VHS transfer of the unrated film, spread across two tapes with a combined runtime of 253 minutes. All you need is a working VCR and perhaps a willingness to explain tracking adjustments to anyone born after 2005.
The artwork for the 4K release features contributions from more than a dozen Los Angeles artists, presenting The Bride in a bridal veil-inspired motif that feels appropriately stylish for one of Tarantino’s most iconic characters.
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair 4K Collector’s Edition lands on July 28 for US$59.99, while the VHS Be Kind, Rewind Edition will set you back US$39.99. Whether you prefer Dolby Vision or magnetic tape, The Bride’s bloody quest for revenge is finally getting the home release many fans thought might never happen.
To be honest, I would love to have the Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair VHS – Be Kind, Rewind Edition because it is totally my era (yes, I am old!), but alas, it is not to be because it is sold out. Like, who would have thought it sold out before the 4K edition, right?
Keep going to catch the official trailer.
