LEGO Builds a Bugatti You Might Actually Afford: The Speed Champions Centodieci

LEGO Speed Champions Bugatti Centodieci Hyper Sports Car (77240)

It is not clear what the next “flagship” Technic supercar set will be. I am sure someone out there is keeping their fingers crossed for it to be the Centodieci. But until it actually happens, petrolheads can look forward to building a smaller-scale one: the LEGO Speed Champions Bugatti Centodieci Hyper Sports Car (77240).

Designed for kids age 9 and up (and us, of course), the 77240 uses a modest 291 elements to accurately recreate Bugatti’s other, less-mentioned hypercar. Unlike its full-size sibling that costs a couple of million and probably needs its own garage wing, this 6-inch (15 cm) long LEGO version comes in at just US$26.99 and doesn’t even require an oil change.

It’s got the signature horseshoe grille, five side air intakes, unique rims, and even that dramatic rear wing—all brickified for your shelf or desk. There’s also a driver minifigure clad in a Bugatti outfit, ready to hit imaginary top speed straight from your bedroom floor.

Coming August 1st, this pint-sized powerhouse proves that you don’t need 1,600 horsepower to have fun—just a steady hand and 291 tiny plastic parts. Vroom-vroom noises optional but highly encouraged.
