Life-sized LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sían FKP 37

LEGO has done it with Bugatti and McLaren, and now Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has joined the stable of life-sized LEGO supercars. And the car of choice? The Lamborghini Sían FKP 37, obviously, the Italian marque’s hybrid supercar that has gotten its own 1:8 scale LEGO Technic replica last year.

All told, Life-sized LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sían FKP 37 had over 400,000 LEGO Technic elements and it tips the scale at a hefty 2,200 kilograms (4,850 lbs).

While the life-sized LEGO Bugatti (which also has a LEGO Technic set, btw) stood out as one that was “drivable”, the Life-sized LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sían FKP 37 stands out with 154 different types of LEGO elements, including 20 molded specifically for this project.

This dream LEGO set for petrol heads also stand out with functional Technic-built lights, a detailed cockpit with LEGO built dashboard controls and racing seats, and a brick-built steering wheels complete with the Raging Bull emblem and Italian flag.

Furthermore, it is the first large-scale model from the LEGO Group to have a paint brush-effect UV color coating to, you know, ensure that it will last a lifetime. The color is, of course, the same as the 1:8 scale version, and applied by Automobili Lamborghini’s paint shop.

The Life-sized LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sían FKP 37 was presented in a first-of-its-kind virtual unveiling where the model was rebuilt in a virtual LEGO workshop to become the life-size version. The unveiling took place on June 8, 2021.

Fun fact: 15 design, engineering and building specialists from LEGO were involved in this project, devoting a total of 8,660 hours. The result is just not just an accurate replica aesthetically; the dimensions are identical too, measuring 4,980 mm long, 2,101 mm wide and 1,133 mm high.
